| What's
BABJ All About?
It's about providing a network to strengthen the ties between communications professionals of color in the Greater
Boston area, awarding scholarships, expanding job opportunities and improving the journalism industry's portrayal
of African Americans.
BABJ predates the National Association of Black Journalists by 4 years, originally started by a small group of
Boston's Black journalists. We became one of NABJ's first chapters in 1975 and have continued to hold
forums,
seminars and community workshops, networking and social events for our
members throughout the years.
General member meetings take place once a month.
Why Should I become a Member? Because you'll meet and network with journalists and communications professionals of color who have similar
interests.
You'll be able to participate in BABJ sponsored professional development seminars and workshops to help you maintain
your "edge." |
